In keeping with our commitment to offer comprehensive, quality health care, Midwest ENT Specialists offers a wide range of cosmetic services, including face lift, rhinoplasty, sleep apnea treatment and assistance finding an oncologist. Our Woodbury, Eagan, Maplewood, St. Paul and Western Wisconsin clinics have some of the most dedicated and accomplished professionals in their field.
Using state-of-the-art digital computer imaging and the most advanced technology in facial plastic surgery, our medical staff achieves amazing reconstructive and aesthetic surgery results. Our face lift and rhinoplasty patients in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Twin Cities suburbs are enjoying increased self-confidence and self-esteem as a result of their improved appearance.
All cosmetic surgery is performed at Midwest Surgery Center.
Face lift is performed to tighten the skin on the face and neck. The procedure reduces wrinkles and sagging skin. Face lift is one of the top five cosmetic surgical procedures performed in the United States. The procedure is often performed in conjunction with other cosmetic surgical procedures, such as a brow lift to enhance overall results. Our staff physician, Dr. Christopher Tolan, has extensive training and experience in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Rhinoplasty, sometimes referred to as a "nose job," can reduce, enlarge, or reshape the nose. Rhinoplasty is frequently requested at our Woodbury facial plastic surgery center to enhance appearance and restore balance and harmony to the face. Since the nose is the central feature of the face, our patients are often amazed at the significant improvement in their appearance following rhinoplasty surgery.
If you are interested in creating a more harmonious appearance with either minimally invasive techniques or with face lift or rhinoplasty, contact Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Skin Care at our Woodbury and Eagan clinic locations.

Our Center for Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea, located near Minneapolis, was established to provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and management of sleep disorders. We use both surgical and medical treatment modalities to customize a plan that is effectively tailored to each individual case. We use the most advanced technology available, including the Somnoplasty sm System - the newest and most effective method available to treat people with difficult nasal breathing, snoring or sleep apnea. Performed in our Minneapolis area office, the technique takes 30 to 45 minutes and is performed using local anesthesia. During the procedure, radio frequency energy is delivered beneath the surface of the tongue. The tissue is heated to create coagulation, and within three to eight weeks the tissue is naturally removed from the body. The goal of the procedure is to shrink the soft tissue responsible for sleep apnea and snoring and open the airway.
The Somnoplasty sm procedure is virtually pain free and recovery time is minimal.
Snoring Implants
Studies have shown that a soft palate contributes to over 90 percent of all snoring. A new, low-cost and highly effective method now being used to reduce snoring is palatal implants. The implants are inserted into the upper palate and are designed to achieve palatal stiffening, which, in turn, reduces and, in some cases, stops snoring. The procedure can be performed in one visit with minimal discomfort. Pillar implants from Restore Medical, St. Paul, Minnesota, are performed by Dr. Thomas Okner.
Sleep disorders can affect the entire family. If you suffer from sleep apnea, contact one of our otolaryngology clinics located in Woodbury, Eagan, Maplewood or St. Paul.
Each year, roughly 70,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with cancer of the head and neck. Our physicians are specially trained to treat cancer of the head and neck. These cancers may involve the oral cavity, mouth, throat, voice box, pharynx, larynx, salivary glands, nose and sinuses, and thyroid gland. If appropriate, we will consult with your oncologist and our physicians will develop the best possible treatment plan for you.
As researchers continue to study the causes of head and neck cancer, our health care professionals remain committed to staying current on ever-evolving advances in technology and treatments. If necessary, we will assist you in finding an expert oncologist in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
At Midwest ENT Specialists we have a full-time head and neck oncology nurse who has over 27 years' experience coordinating the care of our head and neck cancer patients. Her commitment is second to none.

Midwest ENT Specialists is proud to have one of the first ENT doctors in the country to be trained in CyberKnife® technology, Dr. Robert W. Smith. CyberKnife® technology, also known as "knifeless surgery," uses a robotic arm to deliver high doses of radiation to treat tumors and other medical disorders. Unlike traditional methods, this precise, noninvasive treatment protects surrounding tissue from damage.
At Midwest ENT Specialists, we remain steadfast in our dedication to provide our patients with quality, comprehensive health care. Whether you need a face lift, rhinoplasty or sleep apnea treatment, our office staff at our clinics will consistently provide the same degree of superior medical care.
